Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of preconstruction on assigned projects, including budgeting, estimating, scheduling, trade partner engagement, and documentation
- Serve as the main point of contact with clients during preconstruction, ensuring expectations are aligned and outcomes are achievable
- Lead and mentor preconstruction team members while coordinating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and present qualified budgets from conceptual through final design stages
- Analyze cost trends, evaluate risks, and propose cost-effective solutions and alternate methods
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable partnerships
- Manage profit/loss accountability, forecasting, and invoicing on preconstruction agreements
- Facilitate the project handoff to construction teams through formal transition meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- 7–10 years of experience with a general contractor, including 3–5 years in preconstruction or estimating
- Advanced estimating and preconstruction expertise across all project phases
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Proficient in preconstruction platforms such as Building Connected, Destini Estimator, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to integrity, growth, and teamwork
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with a collaborative team
