Position Overview
The Preconstruction Manager will take ownership of early project planning efforts, working closely with clients, architects, and internal teams to deliver accurate estimates, schedule input, and preconstruction strategy. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who wants to contribute to both technical execution and relationship-building.
Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction efforts for negotiated and hard-bid projects ranging from $5M–$60M
- Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed budgets throughout the design process
- Collaborate with owners and design teams to align scope, cost, and schedule
- Work across a variety of sectors including commercial, multifamily, education, and healthcare
- Develop subcontractor scopes, solicit pricing, and evaluate bids for accuracy and completeness
- Facilitate value engineering reviews and coordinate constructability input
- Support seamless turnover to operations teams prior to project start
- Participate in client presentations and contribute to interview preparation
- Mentor and support junior team members within the estimating and preconstruction team

Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in preconstruction or estimating with a commercial general contractor
- Strong understanding of building systems, sequencing, and materials
- Proficient with tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Assemble, or comparable software
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred
