
Senior MEP Estimator (Remote | East Coast Preferred)

A growing cost consultancy specializing in complex, large-scale projects across the U.S. is seeking a MEP Estimator to join their team. This firm supports major developments in sectors such as data centers, life sciences, hospitality, and cultural institutions, delivering detailed cost management, procurement, and change order services to some of the country’s leading construction and development groups.
This position is ideal for a technically strong, client-facing MEP professional who thrives in a consultative environment and can independently manage high-value, multifaceted projects from conceptual stage through completion.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of MEP estimates for a range of project types and sizes — from early-stage conceptual budgets (based on narratives) through detailed construction estimates.
- Provide strategic cost advice to clients on design intent, constructability, procurement, and value management.
- Interface directly with clients, design teams, and contractors to deliver accurate, data-driven cost solutions.
- Manage and support procurement and change order processes for ongoing projects.
- Oversee and coordinate with remote/offshore estimating support teams.
- Occasionally assist in business development efforts through client presentations and proposal support (additional incentives available).
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in MEP estimating, ideally within both contractor and consulting environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and their integration within large-scale projects.
- Proven ability to produce conceptual estimates with limited design documentation.
- Demonstrated experience advising clients and leading meetings with senior stakeholders.
- Solid knowledge of U.S. labor markets and regional cost variations — particularly across the New York and California markets.
- Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects with minimal oversight.
Key Project Exposure
- High-profile, large-scale developments — including data centers, life sciences facilities, airports, museums, and hospitality projects.
- MEP scope values ranging from smaller assignments to programs exceeding $100M within overall construction values of $1B+.
