We are working with a rapidly growing, employee-owned General Contractor looking to strengthen its Austin preconstruction team with the addition of a Ground-Up Estimator.

The business has experienced exceptional growth over the last two years, expanding from approximately $300M to $800M in revenue, with ambitious plans to exceed $2B.

With established Ground-Up and Tenant Improvement divisions across Texas, the company is continuing to invest in its preconstruction capabilities and build a strong team to support its expanding project portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for Ground-Up commercial construction projects.
• Manage estimating activities from initial conceptual budgets through to final bid submission.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project documentation.
• Develop cost plans, budgets and competitive pricing strategies.
• Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers and trade partners to obtain competitive pricing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners.
• Provide preliminary cost advice and guidance to clients during early project discussions.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
• Collaborate with Preconstruction, Business Development and Operations teams.
• Take ownership of estimates and utilise commercial judgement throughout the bidding process.
• Support the continued growth of the company's Ground-Up construction division in the Austin market.

• Approximately 5–10 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Previous experience estimating Ground-Up commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, subcontractor pricing and trade packages.
• Experience working through conceptual estimating, budgeting and detailed bid preparation.
• Ability to manage estimates independently and communicate directly with clients.
• Strong relationships with subcontractors and trade partners within the Austin construction market would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commercially aware, proactive and comfortable working in a less corporate environment.
• Someone who enjoys taking ownership and contributing to the wider success of the business.
