Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction activities from early conceptual planning through final pricing
- Develop conceptual and detailed estimates from limited and complete design information
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop trade-specific pricing
- Create detailed scopes of work for subcontractor packages
- Lead value engineering and value analysis efforts
- Perform constructability reviews and building systems analysis
- Track market pricing, cost trends, and escalation
- Solicit, level, and descope subcontractor proposals
- Identify key project cost drivers and develop alternative solutions
- Collaborate with clients, design teams, project management, and field operations
- Participate in project pursuits and support efforts to secure new work
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior preconstruction team members
Requirements
- 5+ years of construction industry experience
- Previous preconstruction experience on projects valued at $5M+
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Strong conceptual and detailed estimating experience
- Experience with quantity takeoffs, scope development, bid leveling, and value engineering
- Knowledge of Destini, WinEst, or similar estimating/takeoff software
- Revit experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience across commercial, healthcare, higher education, industrial, manufacturing, life sciences, hospitality, K-12, interiors, or retail projects preferred
- Ability to work from the Cincinnati office
