About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead the preparation of budgets and bids for large commercial projects. In this role, you will manage a small preconstruction team, coordinate with operations, and serve as the primary point of contact with design teams. This is an opportunity to influence project strategy, lead complex estimating efforts, and mentor developing preconstruction staff.

Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction efforts on large commercial projects, managing budget proposals and estimating teams
- Ensure adherence to preconstruction standards and procedures
- Collaborate with operations on procurement strategy, subcontractor selection, and preliminary scheduling
- Conduct design-assist and constructability reviews throughout design phases
- Prepare preliminary subcontract language and scopes of work for purchasing
- Serve as primary A/E/O contact during preconstruction
- Manage subcontractor database for marketing and project pursuits
- Lead budget presentations to clients and assist in fee strategy development
- Mentor and train preconstruction staff in estimating processes, COB creation, and subcontractor evaluation
Requirements
- B.S. in Construction Management or related engineering discipline
- 5–10 years of commercial construction experience
- 3–5 years of experience as a Senior Estimator on large-scale commercial projects ($25M+)
- Proficiency in preconstruction systems, including On-Screen Takeoff, EarthWorks Pro, and Microsoft Project
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills
