Responsibilities
- Support preconstruction activities from early project pursuits through final pricing and GMP
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using manual and electronic methods
- Develop detailed project and trade pricing
- Prepare scopes of work for individual trade packages
- Support value engineering and value analysis efforts
- Assist with conceptual estimates using limited design information
- Support building systems analysis and constructability reviews
- Assist with comparable project and building cost analysis
- Work closely with preconstruction leadership and operations teams throughout project planning
- Participate in project pursuits, proposals, and efforts to secure new work
- Build relationships with internal teams, clients, designers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders
Requirements
- 2+ years of construction industry experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical field preferred
- Experience or exposure to commercial construction estimating and preconstruction
- Ability to perform quantity takeoffs and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Experience within commercial office, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, industrial, interiors, K-12, manufacturing, or retail construction preferred
- Interest in developing into greater preconstruction and client-facing responsibilities over time
