Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and conceptual budgets for commercial construction projects.
• Develop lump sum bids and GMP estimates from schematic through final pricing.
• Create scopes of work and bid packages across multiple trades.
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor bids to ensure full scope coverage.
• Research material, labor, and equipment pricing to support accurate estimates.
• Support market condition analysis including labor availability, contractor capacity, and cost trends.
• Participate in client, architect, and engineer meetings and presentations.
• Utilize estimating software to input, analyze, and present cost data clearly.
• Serve as bid lead on select projects and mentor junior estimators as needed.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience estimating commercial construction projects.
• Strong experience with quantity takeoffs and scope development.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Comfortable communicating with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
• Experience estimating office, multifamily, higher education, warehouse, or retail projects preferred.
• Familiarity with the Washington, DC market is a plus but not required.
