The Senior Preconstruction Engineer plays a key role in supporting the planning and execution of complex projects from early concept through final pricing. Up to $130,000 base + outstanding benefits
Key Responsibilities
Preconstruction Support
- Assist in all phases of preconstruction for large, complex projects
- Support detailed estimating, cost planning, and budget development
Cost Analysis & Estimating
- Prepare quantity take-offs and pricing analysis
- Develop conceptual and detailed estimates using industry-standard tools
Project Planning
- Contribute to scheduling, logistics planning, and constructability reviews
- Assist in identifying risks and opportunities during early project stages
Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination
- Solicit bids, analyze proposals, and support subcontractor selection
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Preconstruction Managers, Operations teams, and Business Development
- Support proposal development and client presentations
Technology & Tools
- Utilize preconstruction and estimating software such as OST, Bluebeam, Procore, and BIM/VDC tools
Requirements
- 2–6 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or construction engineering with a General Contractor
- Exposure to large-scale projects in higher education, healthcare, K-12, or mission critical sectors preferred
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Experience with quantity take-offs and cost estimating
- Proficiency in tools such as OST, Bluebeam, Procore, and/or BIM platforms
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
