Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Estimator to lead major estimating efforts for federal, design-build, and large ground-up construction projects, often ranging from $50MM to $100MM+. This role is integral to expanding the company’s federal portfolio and supporting its growth objectives. The Senior Estimator will drive preconstruction planning, cost strategy, subcontractor engagement, and proposal development for highly technical, security-sensitive work.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of detailed and accurate cost estimates for large federal and ground-up construction projects, including work on military bases
- Analyze drawings, specifications, RFPs, and design documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities
- Prepare detailed budgets, conceptual estimates, schedules, and procurement strategies
- Perform quantity take-offs and calculate material, labor, and equipment costs
- Drive value engineering and cost-saving strategies throughout the preconstruction process
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and federal trade partners
- Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor proposals to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal requirements
- Prepare complete proposal packages and support final contract pricing for project award
- Collaborate closely with operations, project management, and executive leadership
Requirements
- 7+ years of estimating experience, with strong experience in ground-up construction
- Proven background estimating large projects up to $50MM+
- Experience with work on military bases or other federal facilities strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of federal procurement, design-build processes, and FAR requirements
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead, collaborate, and mentor within a high-performance tea
