With a strong portfolio of negotiated work and long-standing client relationships, this GC continues to win high-profile projects throughout the state. They’re now looking for a Senior Estimator to take the lead on complex bids and GMPs, while mentoring junior staff and working directly with leadership and clients.

This is a key position within a high-performing Preconstruction team—offering real influence on project strategy, client interaction, and internal growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Estimating Efforts: Manage and coordinate the entire preconstruction process on assigned projects, from concept through final pricing and submission
• Develop Budgets & GMPs: Create detailed conceptual budgets, schematic budgets, and final GMP proposals based on evolving design documents
• Client & Stakeholder Interaction: Serve as a primary point of contact with clients, architects, engineers, and ownership teams during preconstruction
• Bid Strategy: Lead bid planning sessions and ensure estimating deliverables align with both company goals and client expectations
• Subcontractor Management: Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers; review proposals for scope accuracy, cost competitiveness, and coverage
• Scope Writing & Clarifications: Develop comprehensive scope sheets and ensure all trade packages are thoroughly reviewed and coordinated
• Mentorship: Train, review, and provide guidance to junior estimators and interns within the team
• Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide creative VE solutions without compromising quality or design intent
• Internal Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Operations, Project Management, and Executive Leadership to transition awarded projects smoothly
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain thorough cost history, project files, bid logs, and estimating data

• 6+ years of experience in estimating with a commercial or multifamily General Contractor
• Proven ability to lead estimates ranging from $10M to $100M+ in value
• Strong knowledge of construction systems, materials, methods, and building codes
• Proficiency in estimating and takeoff software (Bluebeam, OST, Excel, Sage Estimating, Procore, Building Connected, or similar)
• Experience leading GMP development for negotiated projects
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interpret and analyze architectural and engineering drawings at all stages of design
• Comfortable managing multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines
• A collaborative leadership style with the ability to work closely with clients and internal stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
