Position Overview
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for driving all aspects of the preconstruction process from conceptual budgeting to subcontractor buyout. This individual will lead client-facing interactions, manage internal estimating teams, and ensure adherence to companywide standards. Responsibilities
- Lead estimating efforts for large-scale and negotiated projects
- Attend design and client meetings to align expectations, budgets, and scope
- Create bid strategies and subcontractor solicitation plans
- Deliver constructability reviews, system analysis, and value engineering options
- Guide junior estimators and delegate scope assignments
- Collaborate with operations to support prequalification and logistics planning
- Compile estimate summaries, clarifications, and cost deliverables for owner presentations
- Support subcontractor negotiations and purchasing efforts
- Facilitate internal turnover meetings for operations teams
Requirements
- 8+ years of commercial estimating experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of BIM, Autodesk, and takeoff software tools.
- Known in the local market with strong vendor and subcontractor networks
- Excellent communication and client presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage deadlines, accuracy, and confidentiality
