Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic project pursuits and develop a repeatable pipeline of negotiated preconstruction opportunities
  • Build and strengthen executive-level relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and industry partners
  • Partner closely with Business Development to develop winning pursuit strategies
  • Guide clients, designers, and internal preconstruction teams through conceptual budgeting and project planning
  • Lead conceptual estimating, benchmarking, value engineering, and budget reviews
  • Collaborate with operations on project staffing, schedules, fees, risk management, and project execution strategies
  • Lead Go/No-Go meetings and WIN Strategy sessions for major pursuits
  • Drive continuous improvement across preconstruction processes and project delivery
  • Represent the company during interviews, proposal presentations, and industry events
  • Mentor and develop future preconstruction leaders across the organization
  • Participate in executive strategic planning, growth initiatives, and expansion into new markets
  • Support recruitment, leadership development, and employee ownership initiatives throughout the business

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of executive or senior leadership experience within commercial or industrial construction
  • Strong background in preconstruction, project development, operations, or business unit leadership
  • Experience leading complex design-build or negotiated project pursuits
  • Advanced understanding of estimating, project delivery, construction contracts, and risk management
  • Proven ability to build long-term client relationships and secure repeat business
  • Experience developing corporate strategy and leading organizational growth initiatives
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing profitability and operational performance
  • Reputation for integrity, accountability, and collaborative leadership
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast as needed for clients, project pursuits, and industry events
