Responsibilities
- Lead and support preconstruction and estimating efforts on commercial construction projects - Multi-family, Entertainment & Sports, Mixed Use Towers, Airports, Government work, Data Centers, Manufacturing
- Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and contract documents to develop project estimates
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing exercises
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals
- Lead scope review meetings with subcontractors and develop bid strategies
- Manage risk assessment and contract review during pursuit phases
- Assist in developing strategies to meet project participation requirements
- Review estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness
- Compare estimated costs against actual project costs to improve future performance
- Research and implement more efficient estimating processes and methodologies
- Visit project sites and evaluate site-specific conditions when required
- Mentor and train junior estimators within the team
Requirements
- 5 to 10+ years of estimating, preconstruction, or cost control experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience leading or contributing to multiple pursuits simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of conceptual, detailed, and self-perform estimating
- Proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with strong technical construction knowledge
- Familiarity with the local subcontractor market preferred
- Field experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
