A well-established general contractor with a strong presence across Florida is seeking a Preconstruction Lead to drive early project planning and estimating efforts. This role combines technical execution with leadership and client-facing responsibilities, offering the opportunity to influence strategy, mentor team members, and strengthen the firm’s presence in Central Florida.
Position Overview
The Preconstruction Lead will oversee preconstruction and estimating efforts, working closely with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. This position offers visibility to senior leadership and an opportunity to shape preconstruction strategy across a diverse range of projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction efforts on negotiated and hard-bid projects across commercial, healthcare, education, and mixed-use markets
- Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates throughout design phases
- Collaborate with owners, design teams, and trade partners to align budget, scope, and schedule
- Manage preconstruction schedules, subcontractor engagement, and bid evaluations
- Provide constructability reviews, value engineering, and risk management recommendations
- Support seamless project turnover to operations and mentor junior estimators

Requirements
- 7–10+ years of preconstruction/estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
- Strong knowledge of building systems, sequencing, and costs
- Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Office, and digital takeoff tools
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
