Responsibilities
- Lead all preconstruction and estimating activities for projects throughout Middle Tennessee
- Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, conceptual pricing, and proposals
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
- Develop scopes of work and manage bid packages for trade partners
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and company leadership during project planning
- Work closely with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout preconstruction
- Participate in client meetings and provide value engineering solutions
- Track local market trends, labor conditions, and material pricing
- Maintain and strengthen subcontractor and vendor relationships
- Maintain estimating systems, historical cost databases, and pricing information
- Encourage strong subcontractor and supplier participation during bid phases
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 5 to 10+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience within commercial construction
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems
- Experience working within the Middle Tennessee construction market
- Established relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and estimating software such as PlanHub or similar platforms
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
