Responsibilities

  • Lead all preconstruction and estimating activities for projects throughout Middle Tennessee
  • Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, conceptual pricing, and proposals
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
  • Develop scopes of work and manage bid packages for trade partners
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and company leadership during project planning
  • Work closely with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout preconstruction
  • Participate in client meetings and provide value engineering solutions
  • Track local market trends, labor conditions, and material pricing
  • Maintain and strengthen subcontractor and vendor relationships
  • Maintain estimating systems, historical cost databases, and pricing information
  • Encourage strong subcontractor and supplier participation during bid phases

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 5 to 10+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience within commercial construction
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems
  • Experience working within the Middle Tennessee construction market
  • Established relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and estimating software such as PlanHub or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
