Responsibilities

• Evaluate project costs during all preconstruction phases, from conceptual to detailed estimates
• Projects include - higher education, institutional, office, retail, healthcare, warehouse/manufacturing, and multifamily sectors
• Calculate quantities and costs for labor, materials, and equipment
• Research pricing and prepare competitive estimates for hard bid and negotiated projects
• Develop and price scopes for self-performed work
• Prepare detailed bid packages, solicit subcontractor bids, and award contracts
• Conduct risk assessments and constructability reviews
• Develop conceptual and schematic estimates using building systems knowledge and cost data
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and industry professionals
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment of scope, budget, and constructability

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 7–10 years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Strong understanding of all facets of commercial construction (higher-ed, institutional, office, retail, healthcare, warehouse/manufacturing, multifamily)
• Knowledge of the Pittsburgh market preferred but not required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Microsoft Project, and digital takeoff/estimating tools
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications (BIM familiarity a plus)
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively
