Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction efforts for large and complex construction projects.
- Develop complete project proposals, including estimates, schedules, clarifications, drawings, and supporting documentation.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop cost estimates throughout multiple stages of design.
- Review final estimates for accuracy and completeness.
- Lead client presentations and communicate project budgets and strategies.
- Develop value engineering options and cost-saving alternatives.
- Solicit, review, level, and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals.
- Work closely with operations teams on subcontractor procurement.
- Coordinate with design and operations teams throughout design development.
- Ensure designs remain aligned with project budgets and requirements.
- Compare completed project costs against original estimates to improve estimating accuracy.
- Mentor and train Estimators and Preconstruction Engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of preconstruction experience with a General Contractor.
- Experience within Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Distribution, and/or Data Centers required.
- Strong experience estimating large and complex commercial or industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of design-build project delivery.
- Experience with conceptual estimating, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor procurement, and value engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Strong relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple preconstruction projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
