Role Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Data / AI Engineer to play a key role in designing, building, and optimising their modern cloud-based data platform. Working closely with technical and business stakeholders, you will develop scalable data pipelines, create trusted data models, and deliver high-quality data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives. You'll help drive the organisation's data strategy by ensuring strong data governance, quality, and security while enabling teams to make better, data-driven decisions. Responsibilities

  • Design and support scalable lakehouse data architecture using Azure and Databricks
  • Build and maintain robust data ingestion, transformation, and serving pipelines
  • Develop and enhance data models, semantic layers, and governed business metrics
  • Standardise KPIs and transform business logic into reusable, trusted data assets
  • Implement data quality controls, validation rules, and monitoring processes
  • Support data governance, including security, access controls, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable datasets for reporting and analytics
  • Contribute to CI/CD processes, documentation, and continuous platform improvement

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar cloud-based data role
  • Experience building and optimising data pipelines
  • Background in Construction
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
