For many workers, a bonus is a ticket to a getaway or extra money to buy a thing of joy. Find out if construction estimators are entitled to it!

Niche SSP construction estimator salary survey has successfully brought to light what estimating professionals earn in different cities across the US.

The construction estimator salary survey details the range of salaries for senior construction estimators, commercial estimators, junior construction estimators, preconstruction managers, and vice presidents.

How much do estimators make?

To ascertain the worth of the total package, including their bonuses, Niche SSP interviewed hundreds of construction estimators to find out how much money they make in bonuses

Out of 1,440 construction estimators, 52 percent said that their bonus was 10 percent of their base salary.

Following details have been extracted from the construction estimator salary survey so readers can roughly calculate the worth of their bonuses.

The salary of a senior estimator in Houston, Texas, ranges between $247,000-$370,000 while the salary for a director of a preconstruction company rests between $140,000-$180,000.

Although bonuses are based on the basic salaries of preconstruction professionals, they are not part of their salary.

As of 2021, the average bonus pay in the US is 11 percent of salary for exempt employees, 6.8 percent for nonexempt salaried employees, and 5.6 percent for hourly employees.

In its detailed survey, Zippia, a company specializing in career planning, found that 33 percent of companies in the US offer year-end bonuses.

Some construction companies offer bigger bonuses to hire talented estimators from other companies.

According to the poll, 20 percent of the interviewed construction estimators get more than double the amount 52 percent of their peers make in bonuses.

The worth of the bonuses of this 20 percent of the construction estimators is more than 20 percent of their base salary.
